During the Rainy Season immunity of our body becomes low. Several infections are taking place in the body which gives an invitation to all the diseases of different systems. There can be stomach problems, common cold, cough and skin problems like rashes, pimples, and prickly heat boils.

This season infects the air, atmosphere, surroundings, and foods and drinks which the basic needs of a person to live. Skin and hair too becomes a victim of this harsh, hot and humid rainy season.

The number one thing to keep in mind is to keep your skin away from humidity this rainy season. This is because a damp or humid skin is a treat to the entire germ causing microbes and fungi. These tiny microbes can damage your skin in every possible way ranging from rashes, irritation to ringworm.

Let’s talk about some skincare tips which can help you fight the skin issues this rainy season.

Skin care tips for monsoons

 

Proper Cleansing :

Clean your face in a proper manner at least 3 times in a day to remove the impurities. These impurities include extra dirt, dust, and oil which settle down on the skin and block the skin pores.

 

Toning :

Humidity and rains can cause blockage of skin pores, not allowing them to breathe. Proper hydration is important for the skin pores to prevent the entry of free radicals in the deep skin.

Tone your skin at least 2 times a week with a good quality toner. Soak cotton in the toner, try to avoid alcoholic toners, apply it on the face and neck. This can also maintain the pH balance of the skin.

 

Moisturize it well :

The humid weather can cause terrible dryness to your skin. It further leads to problems like skin rashes and flaking. So, it’s important to moisturize the skin using a good moisturizer to keep the skin moist and healthy.

In order to protect your skin and not letting it become the breeding ground for all the germs. Use a face scrub to exfoliate or remove the dead skin cells. You can use a towel for doing this. Exfoliate the skin once a week as over exfoliation can remove the important oils too. This can make your skin rough and lifeless.

The humid and sticky weather can leave you sweating a full day. Sweating in excess can take up all the moisture from the skin making it look dull and pale. So, keep yourself hydrated and drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day.

 

Homemade face packs :

Give something natural to the skin this rainy season. Look into your kitchen and make homemade face packs or face peels and use them. It is natural and can do wonders for the skin.

 

The Do’s for the monsoon season :

  • Eat a balanced diet including good fats as they are good for repairing the skin and retaining moisture.
  • Let your feet breathe. Wearing tight and close footwear can make your feet sweat leading to fungal infections. Prefer wearing waterproof footwear like sandals or floaters.
  • On visiting a salon, make sure proper hygiene is there. Check whether the tools are disinfected or not to prevent the skin from infection.

The Don’ts for the monsoon season

  • Avoid bathing with hot steaming water. It can weaken the skin capillaries and cause damage to the skin.
  • Don’t cleanse in a hurry. Take proper time for cleansing, if not done it can cause bacterial infections.
