Among the various skin problems, the most common and irritating one is Acne. The tiny pores of the skin become clogged with extra oil, dirt, and impurities. This is the prime reason for the occurrence of acne. However, the trouble is not only these tiny bumps but the permanent scar/ blemish it leaves behind.

You often try various methods to get rid of this issue but don’t get satisfactory results. This may make you lose your patience level and you squeeze a pimple. But by doing this you worsen the problem as it leaves you with a permanent scar on your face.

I have a better recommendation for which you’ll thank me later. Mint is an herb which holds a prominent place in skin care as it helps to get rid of skin problems. Wondering how to use mint for treating acne and its scars? You’ll get all your answers here.

First let’s see some of the benefits of Mint for acne problem:-

  • Has excellent antioxidant properties and helps to remove harmful free radicals
  • Unclogs the pores and results in faster healing and drying of acne
  • Reduces swelling and scars and brightens the skin
  • Stops the growth of bacteria
  • Keeps the skin soft and flexible

Now, the different ways to use mint leaves for acne and its scars.

A paste of Mint Leaves :

The leaves of mint have antibacterial properties which can suppress the acne-causing bacteria. This, in turn, helps to reduce the scars/blemishes too. For preparing this paste, you’ll need 10-15 mint leaves and few drops of water.

The first step is to grind the mint leaves and add water to give paste-like consistency. Put this paste on the affected areas and let it dry. Wash with lukewarm water afterward.

Juice of Fresh Pudina (Mint) :

Take a handful of fresh mint leaves and with a help of mortar and pestle grind them. After getting a thick paste, extract the juice by squeezing the pulp.

Use this juice on the area which is affected with acne and keep it for 10 minutes. Then wash your face with water; try doing this in routine for effective results.

Combination of Mint and Honey :

This is a good technique for the people having dry skin type. Both honey and mint have antibacterial properties and a combo of it works as a magic for acne and scars.

This face pack will not dry your skin as it doesn’t let the moisture to escape out. Crush 10-15 mint leaves; and to a bowl, add this paste and 1 tsp. organic honey.  After blending the mixture well use it on the affected area. After keeping it for 30 minutes, wash with water.

The coolness of Mint and Rose Water :

Both mint and rose water have a cooling effect on the skin. Both of these, when put together, moisturizes your skin and helps to tackle the acne problem.

You can prepare this paste by taking 10-15 mint leaves and 1 tsp. rose water. Make a smooth paste by grinding the mint leaves and mix well with rose water. After using it on the affected areas; allow it to dry for 30 minutes. Wash with water in a proper manner.

A mixture of Mint, Yogurt, and Cucumber :

This three-ingredient face pack helps to soothe swelling, heals acne, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Yogurt hydrates your skin; mint and cucumber cools it and helps in soothing acne scars.

For preparation, you require 10-15 mint leaves, 1 tsp. yogurt and 1 tsp. grated cucumber or its juice. Crush the leaves and mix all the ingredients well. Put this face mask and once it gets dry, wash with water.

 Toner for Flawless Skin :

Toner prepared with mint leaves has astringent properties. Plus it is a rich source of salicylic acid; a component of Pudina. Using this toner helps to prevent acne and keep scars at bay. Add 1 cup shredded mint leaves and one and a half cups of water in a container. Keep this mixture for boiling on low flame. After 5 minutes turn the flame off and cover it with a lid. Let it cool down and then put it into a spray bottle. Store it in the refrigerator and your toner is ready. Spray it on the face to remove the extra oil and dirt.
