Skin types – Ayurvedic Prospective
Skin is a part of our integumentary system which helps to sense of touch, temperature and pressure. It is the largest organ of our body and a few millimeters thick. Human skin colour is controlled by three pigments interactions which are melanin, carotene and hemoglobin. According to Ayurveda it is Matruj Avyava i.e. derived from mother or maternal origin. As per Ayurveda, skin has seven layers and they get nutrition from Mansa dathu (muscle tissue). Skin does not do posan karma means it doesn’t nourish other dathus. Skin is considered as updhatu (secondary product) of Rakhtdathu. It is consider as a mirror of qualities of Rakhatdathu. Beauty of your skin is reflection of your inner body. No beautician or make-up artist can hide your skin if it is unhealthy from inner side. If you want a natural and beautiful skin then know your skin type first.
