Cleansing with Lemon :

All the properties of lemon, be it vitamin C or antioxidants can help to remove the dullness from your skin.


Try to start your day with a glass of lemon juice to wash out the toxins from the body. Rubbing the peels of this yellow juicy fruit on your neck and face can help to reduce dark spots.

Exfoliating the dead cells with sugar :

Sugar may not be good for your waistline but can be good for your dull skin. All you have to do is mix 1 tbsp. of both brown and white sugar in a little water to make a rough paste. Put this on your face and massage in circular motion to exfoliate the dead cells. Then wash with water to get a supple skin.

Eat Chocolate or Mask it up :

Go for the darkest chocolate in the market or the ones with no added sugars. Munching these creamy delights can fill you up with antioxidants and help in healing the skin.


Using cocoa mask is too a good choice. To make this mask take tsp. cocoa powder, honey, and 2 tsp. milk; mix them well. Massage it on your face in a gentle manner and wash with cool water after the mask dries off.

Hydration; an essential part :

Water matters the most for skin’s dull appearance and health. Dehydration can contribute to dryness and dullness. On the other hand, hydration does the reverse; it can make it soft and shiny.  Drink plenty of water throughout the day to impart proper moisture to each organ of the body.

Have a good sleep :

To look well one must sleep well. In an average, everyone requires eight hours of sleep. In a busy life, taking out eight hours of sleep might be impossible but try to make it possible. Go to bed early to wake up fresh in the morning.


While you are sleeping, the skin works overtime to replace the damaged cells with new ones. You can take a good shower or drink a glass of milk with honey to have a good sleep.

Oil pulling :

It is an old Ayurvedic practice often done for maintaining oral health but is beneficial for skin too. It aids detoxification that helps to get rid of toxins collected in your body. This is method is inexpensive and harmless; all you need to have is extra-virgin coconut oil. Put 1 tsp. of it in your mouth and swish it around for about 20 minutes. After that spit it out and brush your teeth. You can do this every morning on an empty stomach, don’t gargle or swallow it.

Drink Aloe Vera to Shine :

Every morning drink fresh aloe vera juice without sugar for a refreshing skin. The properties of aloe vera like antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and all can free you from dull skin troubles. In case you face dullness because of oily skin, aloe-honey mask can help you.
