But unfortunately, winter is the time when our skin doesn’t like to cooperate with us. In these months, our skin tends to get dry, rough and itchy due to lack of moisture.

This happens because there is a drop in the temperature and humidity. It makes the skin dehydrated leading to dry patches as well as irritation.

Apart from weather conditions, there are some other factors also which cause dryness of the skin. These include insufficient moisture in the body, exposure to harmful UV rays, hot showers, using harsh soaps and chemical based face wash for Dark spots, blackheads, acne and other skin problems.

An effective lubricant is needed to rehydrate the dry skin. You can make use of many natural ingredients for this.

In this article, I’m sharing with you a list of best home remedies for dry skin in winter.

Let’s begin!

Honey :

It is considered a natural moisturizer which is loaded humectant, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. It helps in locking the moisture to make your skin extra soft and smooth. The essential vitamins and minerals of honey are helpful in improving the health of the skin.


What you have to do?

Before taking a bath or shower, rub some raw honey all over your body. Massage in a gentle manner using circular motions. After waiting for 10 minutes, take bath with a Neem Body wash. This remedy will help to keep your smooth and supple.

Milk Cream :

This milk-based product helps to combat the skin dryness. It is because the high-fat content in milk cream works as a natural moisturizer for dry skin. The lactic acid of milk helps to exfoliate the dry and dead surface of the skin.


How to use it?

For using it in routine, rub some fresh milk cream on your dry skin. Rinse off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

Aloe Vera :

When having a tough time with skin dryness, aloe vera is the right ingredient that you need. It will help to keep your skin soft and vibrant even during the winter season.


How to make use of it?

Take a fresh aloe vera leaf and extract out its gel. Then, use it all over your body. Massage for a few minutes so that the gel penetrates deep into the skin. After doing this wait for 30 minutes and rinse it off using lukewarm water. The other option is that you can use  Aloe Vera Face Wash for proper cleansing and to keep your skin healthy.

Banana :

The rich water content of banana helps to keep your skin moisturized. The vitamins and antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits which help you maintain younger-looking skin.


How to use a banana for your skin?

All you need to do is, slice ½ of a banana and mash it using a fork. Then, add 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt to it. After mixing one teaspoon of honey to it, spread this mixture on your skin and keep it for 15 minutes. At last, rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Glycerin :

It has excellent moisturizing and humectant properties. That is why glycerin work as a great remedy to get rid of dry skin. It helps your skin to absorb and hold on the moisture.

How to use it?

Take equal parts of glycerin, rose water and lemon juice and mix them in a proper manner. Use this solution on your dry skin before going to sleep. Next morning take a shower with lukewarm water. After this, apply a mild moisturizing skin care cream to prevent dryness.

Yogurt :

It is another kitchen ingredient which can keep your skin hydrated and remove dryness. The lactic acid of yogurt helps to remove dead skin cells, hydrate dry patches and gives a shine and glow to your skin.


What you have to do?

Take fresh yogurt and use it on your hands, face, and legs. In a gentle manner, massage it into your skin. Allow it to stay for 10 minutes then take a bath with organic neem body wash to keep your skin moist and free from infections. Try doing this 3 or 4 times in a week.

So, these are some of the home remedies which you can follow to get rid of dry skin in winters.

Along with this, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Replace the harsh chemical-laden products with the ones with natural ingredients.
